As someone who has been
playing winning roulette for thirty years it may surprise you to read that I am
to a large extent against gambling. By gambling, I am referring to playing any
casino game where the player is gambling with no method and simply subjecting
himself to the house edge. I say only ‘to an extent I am anti gambling’ and
that’s because there is clearly nothing wrong with having an occasional flutter
on a horse for fun or an evening of black jack/roulette.
However, the reality is
that casinos are almost entirely made up of 5-7 days per week players who are
nearly all losing and many of whom have already lost everything, and by that I
don’t just mean their money I mean everything important in their lives.
Gambling is a serious business and it should not be messed with by anyone who
has not fully tested the success of their method first and since the method
usually involves making a bet and just hoping, I am obviously against this style
of gambling.
Always Losing at Roulette ?
There are is a certain
group of roulette players who almost literally never win. Even a basic
understanding of probability would suggest that this is a bit weird how some
people don’t win when other non system players do sometimes win, so what’s
going on.
The style of roulette
play that seems to be least effective is known as grinding, and if you’re a
roulette grinder my advice is to STOP NOW ! To be blunt it
is the style of playing that is usually adopted by the most compulsive players.
They don’t like losing and so this makes them steadily cover more and more
numbers until such a time when the whole layout is covered in one way or
another.
There are various things
we can say for sure about this roulette strategy, if we can call it that. By
covering such a wide area we can say that a roulette grinder will get something
back nearly every spin but never enough to actually say ’ hey that’s a good
night, I shall bank that’ However there is one small upside to this method in
that the grinder will last longer than most players for the same money. The
normal player of a few numbers will sometimes have enough to keep at the end of
their play with a little luck, where the grinder almost certainly will not. In
other words they arrive on a regular basis and just play and play and play
knowing that on some days they may last a couple of hours and then just hang
around and on other days they will last longer, but notice how it’s all about
how long they survive rather than at what point do they stop and bank it…bank
what?

Gambling is definitely
about being responsible and knowing exactly what is your own potential for both
winning and losing. If the potential for loss is high then this is when the
playing or at least the style of roulette playing should be reviewed. If it is
an area of concern for anyone then they should immediately seek some good
neutral advice, put gambling behind them and move on.
For anyone considering withdrawing
from the game please let me remind them that they will not miss out on the
jackpot as there isn’t really one in roulette other than the for the pro player
but even his jackpot is won over years and not days. To stop playing your
favourite roulette numbers is far easier than to stop buying your favourite
lottery numbers where there is always a chance of winning the big one!
Free Roulette
Systems: Be Warned
There are thousands of
free roulette systems available on the net and although I can’t obviously state
that none of them work but the reality is that they are nearly all roulette
stake betting systems which really do not work. These free roulette systems are
nearly always used to draw your attentions to online casinos, and the worst
part about these systems is that they will more often than not actually start
out by working. The method, which often requires the player to increase or
double their bets as they lose, will usually work making a number of single
units until such a time when there is a period of negative fluctuation perhaps
creating say 13 blacks in a row and maybe requiring a bet of 8192 units just to
win back what has been lost plus the single original bet unit. It doesn’t sound
too inviting and yet this doubling up style of betting is one of the worlds
best known and even has the name of Martingale roulette system.
If you look around the
net you may notice how many players say that a roulette system that they had
found or even purchased, only worked well at the very beginning, and now we can
all see why. The chances of getting 13 blacks in a row right at the start would
be very low and so to start with the system would work. Probability says that
within time these bad runs will happen and the house edge would still prevent
any chance of a long term win.
Responsible Roulette
Professional
The pro- roulette player
needs to apply a degree of responsibility into his game too. The roulette
margin offered up at any given time will depend on the quality of the wheel
(from a playing point of view) and the conditions that affect the roulette ball,
and both of these factors are changing all the time.
If a pro roulette player
over estimates how good a wheel is and plays in poor conditions when he
shouldn’t, then he too will probably lose, only to walk out kicking himself for
getting involved in a game that wasn’t there to start with.
What can be even worse
is that sometimes a pro can get carried away trying to get their money back at
exactly the wrong time. If conditions are damaging the repeatability of the
roulette ball action then the player will struggle to make money and struggle
even more to win it back.
The secret here is to
constantly take an overview of the quality of the conditions and when they are
bad then it’s time to pull back from playing in a responsible way. To
continuously play through bad conditions is like chucking all the advantage
away.
Naturally the opposite
is true when the conditions are very good, when the professional roulette
player should raise/press their bets accordingly. You may have heard talk of
bet pressing when winning and this came from some early day professionals who
noticed that if you are playing a viable method, then when roulette conditions
come good, the winning is astronomical, and it is these moments that the pro
player is seeking to take advantage of most. In fact recognizing and even
predicting these good periods are in fact two of the biggest five factors in
roulette system play.
Responsible Gaming by
the Casinos
We rely on our casinos
to take a very responsible attitude when it comes to the day to day operation
of their businesses. The casino industry has probably the greatest
responsibility of all. Today the amount of casino corruption is way down on how
it used to be. Certainly casinos in the UK value their
licences so much that there is very little chance of players being subjected to
underhand roulette tactics. However this couldn’t have been said in the 1970’s
and certainly prior to that, Las
Vegas was an absolute hot spot
for every casino trick in the book. The mob ran the casinos and the mob won all
the money too!
Nowadays things are
safer but this will also depend on where one is living or visiting. There are
underground and unlicensed casinos all over the world and you would probably be
best to avoid these as they are notorious for being great places until you win
! Plus the fact that you just can’t know exactly the safeness of the game you
have selected to play.

In many respects this is
the same for online casinos, many of which are unlicensed and could technically
disappear over night. This is pretty easy to avoid, providing you take some
care to select a casino with a reputation. There are tips on this and even
blacklists published on the net as being online casinos to avoid.
It should also be noted
that at this moment in time we do not believe there are any valid systems that
work for the RNG roulette, but we are working on it !!
